NCAA Men's Basketball Tourney

INDIANAPOLIS - MARCH 27: Kalin Lucas #1 of th...Image by Getty Images via Daylife

Friday and Sunday I was able to attend the NCAA BBall tourney in Indianapolis. This is the first time I have ever been to a March madness event. We saw Louisville beat Arizona in the first game, pretty convincingly I might add. In the second game was Michigan State vs Kansas. This game went all the way to the end with MSU going ahead and winning with 6 minutes left in the game. On Sunday we saw the match-up of Louisville and MSU...This was a good game until shortly after halftime when Louisville fell apart and MSU began to dominate the game. It was really cool to be at Lucas Oil Stadium and see this event. I had a great time, and hopefully will be able to attend again sometime in the future.

Back from Vacation

We left last Wednesday for Florida (March 11). First we stayed in Fort Lauderdale at Mike's sister's condo. Very nice place right on the ocean. On Friday we drove from Fort Lauderdale to St. Pete. On the way we stopped at Myakka State Park and took the boat tour...there are over 1000 alligators in this lake, very cool. Then we stopped at the Seafood Shack in Cortez along the intercoastal waterway. My grandma use to take us to this restaurant when we were kids and we would watch the draw bridge. We stayed at Jami's cousins house for the weekend. On Sunday night we watched the sun set and then turned around and saw the space shuttle take off. Pretty amazing clear on the other side of the state and you could see it....Jacob was hilarious he kept saying "go space buddies!!!". On Monday we had a great day at Sea World and then back to Fort Lauderdale for the rest of the week.

Balancing the HDRImage by Kounelli via Flickr

Sometimes there is a fine line between right and wrong, fair and unfair, connected and unconnected. Finding the correct balance in life might be the difference in a choice of words or actions. We have to work hard to earn money to purchase and buy things we want and need. Balance however requires distributing hard work with rest and recovery. I've seen multiple things happen in the last several months, be it in the work place, government, the economy, or social issues, where it seems as if people have shifted to a marginalized position at polar opposite ends of the spectrum. It seems to me that if we could analyze the distribution of these positions we could achieve a balance that would benefit all of us.

The Passage of TimeImage by ToniVC via Flickr

This weekend my son turned 3 years old. It seems like just yesterday he was born. This year I will be 32. Seems funny, when you are young it seemed to take forever to get to 16 to get your driving license. Now in the blink of an eye another 16 years have passed by. I guess in some ways that is good. It means everything is going good and I am living a good life. We need to always be enjoying the moment. Sometimes life passes us by and we don't pause to enjoy where we are at. Life is a movie not a photograph.
