Image by Brian_Brooks via FlickrI have ridden my by bike 100.3 miles in August! Ok, ok I know that some people ride their bikes 100 miles in a single day, and, well, good for them. In my case you have to start from where you are at. When I was a kid I was always on my bike riding. Then I began driving, and when I went to college I started gaining weight. I have now been over weight and out of shape for several years. This is where I was at a month ago when God started prompting me to do something about it. So as you know from a previous post I began riding my bike to work. Somewhere in the middle of August I was looking at my miles and decided I would like to have at least 100 miles by the end of the month. Actually I thought I would be well past that mark, but a last minute business trip and weather put me right until the last day to achieve the century mark. Our pastor is always saying that you have to point your feet in the direction that you want to go. Well at this point I am pointing my bike in the direction I want to go. I may not be leading a peloton any time soon, but I will be getting closer to where I want to go. Achieving a healthy body, one pedal at a time, one mile at a time.
